Be the Country’s Number One Centre of Excellence in Research, Teaching, Training and Advocacy in the field of Corporate Governance and Citizenship, through capacity building, knowledge creation, and dissemination.
· Be the preferred choice for engaging or partnering in research, teaching, training, and advocacy in matters relating to corporate governance and citizenship globally
· Be the preferred choice for engaging or partnering in the development of board-and-top level directors and executives towards the highest standards of corporate governance and citizenship, in private, public , civil society, and not-for-profit sectors of business, commercial, civic, and social activities
· Be the preferred choice for policy support to government, regulators, standard setters, and professional and industry bodies on corporate governance and citizenship legislation, regulation, self-regulation, and moralsuation
Ideating for 2010 and the future
- A successful international Conference was held on Global and Contextual Business Ethics at the Infosys Training Centre at Mysore in April this year, under the auspices of Globethics.net and the Centre. This was very well attended with representation from the Government, Corporate, the Not-for-Profit and Academia. The major take away from this Conference was to create an interactive Ethics network which would facilitate frequent interaction among the participating sectors. The framework would encompass managerial and business ethics, organizational and functional ethics, governance, citizenship and responsibility.
- Following the establishment of the network a second international is proposed to be held next year.
- The Centre will conduct a Faculty Development Programme in the area of Responsible Business.
- It is proposed to publish “The State of India’s Corporate Responsibility Report” under the auspices of the Centre and edited by a Senior Academic Scholar. This will be an edited volume with contributions from scholars and practitioners and will also contain a Ratings Report and a Survey
- There is also a project in the advanced stages of evaluation on ‘Mainstreaming education in the field of Corporate Responsibility in B Schools in India’
